Denver Metro Area Retiree’s Chapter Meeting Minutes

March 22, 2014

Secretary/Treasurer Scott Morrow called the meeting to order at 11:30 AM. 14 members attended the meeting.  Ron Gorman took the minutes.

Scott announced that President Mendrick resigned due to personal commitments that would restrict his ability to perform the duties of the position at the level he expects of himself.

We are in the process of finalizing our charter so that we can start receiving our dues rebate. 

Scott requested volunteers for a Budget Committee once we know what our income is.  Please volunteer if interested by contacting the DMAL at 303-365-1524 or Scott at 303-915-8012.

Under our Constitution & By-Laws, Scott will assume the duties of President, so we also need anyone interested in filling the duties of Secretary/treasurer to volunteer.  If we get more than one volunteer, interviews with each volunteer will help determine whom the president nominates.  All Presidential appointments are subject to approval by the membership at a meeting.  Lew Roman has volunteered so a nominee will be presented for approval at the May 31, 2014 meeting.

The DMAL-APWU General Membership Meeting was held before ours and a motion passed to send one Denver Retiree to the National Convention.  The DMAL will pick up expenses.  The members approved Greg Livigni as our representative.

Chapter Legislative Director Wisniewski gave a legislative report. 

Chapter Director of Organizing Jim Deden gave a report.

A motion to approve the January 11, 2014 minutes was unanimously approved. 

The next meeting is scheduled at the DMAL Union hall on May 31, 2014 at 11:30 AM, after the DMAL General Membership meeting. 

Scott adjourned the meeting at 1:00 PM.
